Happy Friday! Do you guys have a lot of fun plans for the weekend? I hope they include some crafty time and joining us in the new challenge over at Cricut 360 this week. :) So many people travel during the month of August, so this week is all about creating a project around that theme.
I decided to make a travel notebook. I don't know about you, but I am constantly thinking of stuff that I need to pack and if I don't write it down, I end up forgetting about it. (Sometimes I still forget haha!) Here is my travel notebook:
and here it is opened up:
The notepad came in a pack of 5 from the dollar store. The notepad measures 3.5" by 5". To make the cover, I cut out a piece of Melon mambo cardstock at 3.75" by 11" and scored it at 5 3/8" and 5 5/8". I cut out Hello Kitty out of Hello Kitty Greetings at 2.5" and popped her up with some foam adhesive. Pretty cute and it was really simple to make.
I hope you join us this week over at Cricut 360 and don't forget to head over to see what the amazing DT did to inspire you as well. Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I really appreciate it. I hope you have a great crafty day!

Happy Wednesday! Are you ready for the start of a new challenge over at Cooking With Cricut? The challenge this week is to use your pens -- Cricut Color markers, Amy Chomas or Cri-Kits pens. If you don't have any of these to work with, it's ok just include a sun die cut of some sort in or on your project instead.
Here is what I came up with:

Tacky Tuesday's Challenge #8
Happy Tuesday! Today marks the beginning of another great challenge over at Tacky Tuesdays! For the challenge this month, you need to use a "cool treat" die cut and the word "sweet" must be used in your sentiment. A cool treat is an ice cream, popsicle, sundae, etc. Here is what I came up with:
All in all, I'm pretty pleased with how my card came out and I think that ice cream cone from doodlecharms is still one of my favorite cuts. My ice cream cone was cut from DoodleCharms at 3.75". For the cone, I just placed it on my scoreboard and scored some lines to give it the look of a real cone. The ice cream was embossed using the D'vine swirls cuttlebug folder and the background was embossed using the Swiss Dots cuttlebug embossing folder. The crinkle ribbon was made for me by my very good friend Kimberly.
Here are the rules to play in this Tacky Tuesday's challenge:
1. Use the cut specified
2. Use the word specified in your sentiment
3. Link to the Tacky Tuesday's Facebook Page before 7/19/2011
To see the rest of the projects the DT came up with be sure to visit Ruthie's blog, September Ninth. That's it! Pretty easy huh? I can't wait to see what you create for the challenge! Have a great crafty day!

Cricut 360 Challenge #1
Happy Friday!!! Guess what? Today marks the beginning of the very first challenge at Cricut 360! How exciting! We would like to invite you to come play along with us! The first challenge is a great one and I am sure you are going to love it. For the very first challenge, we challenge you to make an invitation of ANY kind. Birthday, wedding, concert, etc. This is what I came up with:
I thought this would be a cute invite to a ice cream social or even a birthday party. For my invitation, I used the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge. Using the card/tag function key, I cut out my card and the layers at 6.5". I used the D'Vine Swirls cuttlebug embossing folder for the embossing on my card. I added some glitter, doodling and a little bow. It was so easy to do and I am really pleased with how it turned out.
So are you ready to play along? I really hope you do. There is even a great prize for this week's winner. You can find out all the info at Cricut 360. So head on over to Cricut 360 to see what the rest of the design team came up with as well as entering the challenge. I look forward to seeing what you create!
