Best Witches!

Happy Halloween!

This week, the Joy's Life DT has been having fun creating whatever our hearts desire!
 It's a free for all!

In the spirit of Halloween, I decided to make a treat bag filled with some sugary treats!

I cut my bag twice out of the Wrap It Up cricut cartridge at 8".
Once in the green and once in the black. I fussy cut my black bag so that I could get the silhouette of the witch.
Before I assembled the bag, I added some acetate behind the witch so nothing would fall out of the bag.
I added some faux stitching to the box and some black tulle and twine to the handle.

I thought this sentiment from the Halloween Puns stamp set was perfect:

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!

I hope you are all off to a great weekend! We are busy preparing for Hurricane Sandy in my area.
I hope everyone who is the line of the storms stays safe!

Last night I was able to sit down and create a card for a challenge. It feels like forever since I was able to actually sit down and play along with one and it felt good :)

As soon as I saw this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, I knew I wanted to play along:
I decided to make a birthday card with the sketch. I am down to 1 birthday card in my stash! That can't happen so it is time to build my collection back up :)

Here is the card I created:

Can you believe I didn't use my cricut??? I know! Shocking! :)
I did however use stamps from the Artiste Cricut Collection-Birthday set from CTMH though.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation!

Prize: 1 Stamp Set of the Winner's Choice

Here is my CANDY-licious project...

Every year, since she went away to college, I send my daughter and her friends a Halloween box filled with Halloween candy. I made this card with one of her friends in mind to put inside the box with their candy.

My card base was cut out of the Sentimentals cricut cartridge at 5" and then I cut out the white layer at 4.75" to make a layer for the base. My candies came from the Mini Monsters cricut cart. The lollipops were cut out at 2" and the small candies were cut out at 1".  I added some glitter to each candy to give it that "sugary" effect.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!
Please make sure you stop over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges to see what my lovely DT sisters came up with for the challenge, as well as entering it yourself.
I would love to see what you create!

Cut It Up #4

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!

Today marks the beginning of another fabulous challenge over at Cut It Up!

Challenge #4
"Eek! Boo! Ahh!"
create a spooky Halloween project,
your project can be cute or scary but you
must include a Die-cut somewhere on your project.
The project can be a card, layout, 3-D item, altered item, etc.
The challenge will run from
October 19th until October 31st (12 pm EST).

Here is the card that I created:

I love Halloween!
For my card, I was able to use up some of my scrap patterned paper that I got in a little mat stack last year! I love it when I am able to do that. Somehow makes me feel better, ya know, using what I actually buy and all that ;) lol!
For my die cut, I used my beaded circles dies from Spellbinders. I weaved some twine through the holes on the die. The stamp in the center of the die is from Recollections. The "Happy Halloween" stamp is from the Holiday Occasions from Joy's Life.

For challenge #4, we have the pleasure of having Trendy Twine sponsor us again. One lucky winner picked by random.org from all the entries on the Cut It Up blog, challenge #4 will win this:

So, head on over to Cut It Up and see what my super talented DT sisters created to inspire you as well as entering the challenge yourself. I would love to see what you create :)

Wart's Up?

Happy Wednesday!

Before I get onto this week's project, I would like to announce the winner for my prize on the Joy's Life Halloween Blog Hop.

I had Random.org pick the winner from all the comments and the winner is comment #14:

Congrats Marilyn's Cricut Crafts!
Please email me with your shipping address by Oct.31, 2012 so I can get your prize out to you.

This week, the Joy's Life DT has been having fun creating projects that use embossing in some way.
I decided to make this fun Halloween card:

It's a toad wearing a witch hat!! How fun!!
I cut my toad/frog out of the Mini Monsters cricut cartridge at 2.5".
The hat is from the same cartridge but cut out at 3.5"
I ran my purple background layer through my cuttlebug with the Spots and Dots embossing folder.
I love using my cuttlebug to emboss!

What is more fun than a frog wearing a witch hat???
Why this sentiment from the Halloween Puns stamp set from Joy's Life of course!

Fresh Brewed Designs
Prize: 3 Digis of the winner's choice

Here is the BOO project I made!!

I absolutely love Halloween so
I decided to make a "BOO" banner for my mantle.
I cut my banner pieces out of the Birthday Bash Cricut cart at 5".
The letters came from the Cricut Alphabet and were cut out at 3".
I cut Frankie and his beautiful wife out of the Happy Hauntings Cricut cart at 4" each.
The bats are from the bitty bat punch from SU!
I connected my banner by threading black tulle all the way through and then securing it with some cute purple ribbon with green polka dots on it.
It was so simple to make but I love it!

Frankie has some black enamel accents on his scar and hair to give him a little bit more interest.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but Frankie's bride has some Dazzling Details glitter glue for her white streak in her hair.

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation! I really appreciate it!

I love the Teddy Bear Parade Cricut cartridge! So many cute bears!

If you arrived here from Laura's Blog, then you are in the right spot.
If you just happened to stumble across the hop today on my blog and would like to start at the beginning, then hop on over and see Joy at Joy's Life.

For my project, I decided to make a cute little treat paint can filled with some fun sized candy bars.

I cut my witch hat out of the Happy Hauntings cricut cartridge at  2" and popped it up using foam adhesive.
The spider web border around the middle of the can is a Martha Stewart border punch

Here is a view of the lid:
The lid layer was made with my spellbinders classic scallop circles and spider web bling from Recollections.

Side View:
I love the tag hanging down and all the ribbon and tulle on the handle
Look at this great sentiment from the Halloween Puns stamp set by Joy's Life.
I love this font!

My hubby is really glad that the blog hop is today cause he keeps looking at the candy haha!
I told him that he could have it after the hop and didn't have to wait until Halloween ;)

Sweets for the Sweet

Hi everybody!
Happy Wednesday!

This week, the Joy's Life DT has been focusing on projects that show you ways to wrap up those Halloween Treats.
I decided to make this cute little box from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cricut cartridge
and fill it with orange yogurt covered pretzels. YUM!

I cut the box out at 6.5" For my pumpkin, I used Mini Monsters cricut cartridge and cut him out at 2.5". I attached my pumpkin using an action wobble to make it more fun :)

For my sentiment, I used the Sweets For The Sweet stamp from the Halloween Puns by Joy's Life set.

After it was stamped, I punched it out using my Modern Label punch from SU and attached it to the box with some foam adhesive to give it a little more dimension and then I placed some orange gems on each side.

I simply tied some black tulle into a bow at the top to help keep my box closed.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
