Cut It Up #9

Hi Everyone!
Happy Friday!

Today marks the beginning of another great challenge over at

Challenge #9
"Out With The Old"
Create a paper project that reuses something from around your house that you typically would not use in your papercrafting (i.e. a pendant from a old necklace, acetate backing from a sticker sheet, fabric from some old clothing, etc.)
Project must also include a die-cut!

Challenge will run from Dec. 28, 2012 to Jan. 9, 2013 (noon EST)

For my project I decided to make a pretty little card:

For my die cuts, I used my Lacy Labels Cricut Cartridge and cut out my scallop oval and leaf vine for my sentiment at 3".

Can you guess my repurposed item???

My flowers are actually some old earrings that my daughter no longer wanted.
I simply cleaned them up, snipped off the post and attached them to my leaf vine with some tacky glue.
I think they made a wonderful embellishment and they went along with my papers so well.
It was like it was meant to be :)

I hope you will head over to Cut It Up! to see what my amazing DT sisters came up with for the challenge as well as entering the challenge yourself!
We would love to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and seeing my newest creation!
I really appreciate it!
I hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

Here's my project for this challenge:

My baby boy is turning 19 this month! Time flies!
Masculine cards are NOT my strongest lol!
I have the hardest time making them for some reason.
Maybe it is the lack of cutesy critters and ribbons and bows? haha!

For my card I decided to make a "Z" fold card.
My numbers came from the Boy Will Be Boys cricut cartridge and were cut out at 2" each.

Here is a view from the top so you can see the fold:

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

Peace Hope and Joy

Happy Wednesday!

This week the Joy's Life Design Team has been showing you projects that use those awesome Joy's Life Stamps as well as a certain technique.

I chose to drag out my sewing machine and sew on my project.
I am not a seamstress by any means, I don't even know why I have a sewing machine lol
But I do love the look machine sewing gives to my paper projects.

As you can tell from the picture, I am not very good at all with sewing straight.
That's ok though! I think it gives my card a little bit more character ;)

For my ornament, I used the Christmas Cheer Cricut Cartridge and cut it out at 2.75"
My patterned paper is from the Sweater Weather Collection from MME.
I am so pleased with how my card turned out, from the sewing to the non traditional Christmas Colors
and of course the sentiment:

I love the font on this sentiment! I think it went perfectly with my card!
You can find this sentiment on the Wintery Puns stamp set by Joy's Life.

You can view all of Joy's Products, HERE

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

Here's my project for this challenge:

For my project, I decided to make another Christmas card to add to the many that needs to be sent out this year. I still have a lot to go :)

I used Elegant Edges to make my mat for my blingy snowflake. I cut it out at 2.5".The snowflake is from Studio G and I purchased it after Christmas last year for 50 cents. Of course I grabbed all that they had left but unfortunately, that ended up only being 3 :(

I ran my white layer through my cuttlebug using the Snowflakes embossing folder.
Before I did that though, I punched along the bottom using my Daisy Scallop border punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!
I hope you will stop by Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges to see what my amazing DT sisters did for the challenge as well as entering it yourself.

Oh Christmas Tree!

Hi Everyone!
Happy Thursday!
2 posts from me in one day! Woot! Woot!
If you are here to see my Craftwork Cards DT post for today, please scroll down one post.

I was able to get into my room and create a cute little card today that I will be entering into 3 different challenges.

They are:
Cardz TV: Tis The Season (Christmas card using the card feature on any cartridge)
&
Die Cuttin Divas: Holiday Spirit
&
'ABC' Challenges: Holiday Cards with Bling

Here is the card that I was able to whip up:

I cut my card out of the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge using the card feature on page 37 at 4.5"
I backed the opening with some real red cardstock.
I then added some faux stitching and a little bling to each of the four corners.
There is also dazzling diamonds glitter on the snow caps and glossy accents highlighting bits of the trees.
The picture does not do the card justice. It is much for sparkly in person.
I added a little hemp bow to the middle tree and Voila!
Quick and easy card that looks fabulous!
(or at least I think so haha)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

I hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

Snowman Soup

Happy Wednesday!

All this week, the Joy's Life Design Team is showing you projects that not only incorporate Joy's amazing stamps but food as well :)

I decided to make some fun little gifts for my daughter and her roomies:

For my snowman soup, I filled 2 little bags with some Vanilla Hot Cocoa and Mini Marshmallows.
I then put those in a bigger clear bag and added some Kisses and Mini Candy Canes.

For my topper, I used a label from the Labels 4 die from Spellbinders and folded it in half.
I then ran it through my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder.
I stamped my sentiment and my snowman and then hand cut them out and attached them to my topper.
I added a little bow and Voila!

Isn't that Snowman Soup sentiment and Snowman adorable??
You can find both of those in the NEW stamp set by Joy's Life titled

Winner (chosen by random.org) Announced: Thursday, Dec 13th late afternoon

One winner chosen by random.org will receive a $15 Gift Certificate to their store!

Here is my project for this challenge:

I decided to alter one of those $1 picture frames into a cute Christmas decor item for my home.
I adhered my paper by added some glue onto my wooden frame (I used a glue stick) and then laying the front of my frame onto the back side of my patterned paper.
Then I just used an exacto knife, to trim up the outer edges as well as the inside opening. I took a sanding block and lightly sanded around my frame to get any small bits of paper that I may have missed cutting.  I cut my Christmas Tree out of the Create A Critter 2 Cricut Cartridge at 4". After I adhered all the layers, I popped my tree up with some foam adhesive and I added some TSQ's Royal Jewels for my ornaments. I also added some  TSQ's Royal Jewels to two corners of my frame. You can see all of  The Scrapbooking Queen's Royal Jewels at her store by clicking HERE.
My font for my 2012 came from the Cricut Alphabet cartridge (pre loaded on the E2). I cut my numbers out at 1" each. I added a little red bow onto the "1".
I am so happy with how this turned out! I just need a good family picture from this year to put into it! Keeping my fingers crossed that that happens, I hate getting my picture taken lol!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

Happy Holiday's Blog Hop with Joy's Life Stamps

Happy Sunday!
I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend so far :)

I'm so happy you decided to join us for the Happy Holidays Blog Hop!
If you arrived here from Joy's Blog, then you are in the right spot.
If you just happened to stumble across the hop today on my blog,
and would like to start at the beginning, then just hop on over and see Joy :)

For my project, I decided to make a little gift.

I took a plain white bag that was bought from the store and embellished it to make it pretty :)
My gray layer was run through my cuttlebug with the snowflakes embossing folder.
I then cut my snowflake and mat out of the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge at 3" and popped it up off the bag with some foam adhesive.
I added a little bling to the snowflake for some extra sparkle.
I then stamped my sentiment using a stamp from Joy's new stamp set titled

Inside the bag there is a special little surprise:

An ornament!
I took a clear glass ornament and poured a little liquid glue on the inside.
I poured out the excess and then poured some glitter into the inside.
I rolled that all around to make sure I got nice coverage and then poured out the excess.
I then cut a snowflake from the Winter Woodland Cartridge, also at 3", out of some gray vinyl and adhered that to the front of my ornament.
I finished it off with some bling and a silver bow.

Here is a picture of the bag and ornament together:

I think it came out so pretty!

Now onto the blog candy :)
I am going to be giving away this project!
One lucky winner will win this pretty little gift bag and ornament.

All you have to do to be eligible is:
1. Be a follower of my blog
&

That's it! Easy Peasy!
