Cricut 360 Challenge #9

Happy Friday! Today marks the beginning of a new challenge over at Cricut 360. In honor of labor Day being Sept. 5, the challenge this week is to make a "Relaxing" project.

Here is what I made:

I love to relax on the beach whenever I can so my mind immediately went to a nice relaxing chair on the beach listening to waves and the seagulls flying over head. Ahhh! Anyways, before I keep rambling on, lets get to the card details. I cut my chair out of Life Is A Beach at 3" and my seagulls were also cut from that cartridge at 2". For my sand and waves, I just did some paper tearing and then added some stickles to the top of each layer to give it just a little bit of sparkle.

On a personal note, my family and I are getting ready for Hurricane Irene and my thoughts are with everyone who is also getting ready for her. Please stay safe!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation! I really appreciate it. Don't forget to stop by Cricut 360 to see the rest of the design teams inspiring projects and to enter the challenge yourself. I hope you have a great crafty day!!!

You're A Peach

Happy Wednesday! Are you guys ready for another challenge over at Cooking With Cricut? August is National Peach Month and today just happens to be National Peach PIE day (yum!), so this week's challenge is all about peaches.

Here is the card that I created:

I cut my peach out of Just Because Cards at 2.5". My sentiment was typed up on the computer and then a frame was stamped around it using a frame stamp from Studio G. For my ruffled border, I used some Crepe Streamers, you know the ones you hang up at a party? I had a left over pack from one of my kids birthday parties so I figured why not. I tried it out and fell in love with how it came out.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog to see my latest creation. I really appreciate it. Don't forget to stop by Cooking With Cricut to see what the rest of the design team cooked up as well as entering the challenge yourself. I can't wait to see what you create. :) I hope you have a great crafty day!

Birthday Wishes

Happy Wednesday! Almost the weekend! Yay! Last night I was able to sit down and actually create something. Lately it seems like I haven't been able to create. I don't know if my mojo is gone or if it is life getting in the way. When I saw the challenge for Birthday Sundaes (Create a birthday card with at least 3 brads) and the sketch over at Mojo Monday (sketch 204), that seemed to help get my creative juices flowing again. Yay!

Here is the card I created for those challenges:

It felt good to create again. I cut my birthday hat out of the Celebrations cricut cartridge at 1.75". The scallop circles are from the Classic scallop nestabilities (large).

Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a look at my latest creation. I really appreciate it. I hope you have a great crafty day!

Cooking With Cricut Cartridge Showcase

Hi! Today I am going to share with you a project that I made for the cartridge showcase over at Cooking With Cricut. For my showcase, I decided to use the Create A Critter cartridge. Even with so many awesome cartridges out there, I think Create A Critter is still one of my favorites. All the critters are just so adorable! They instantly put a smile on my face. Not to mention that there are a lot of really cute phrases and the accessories can be used for other projects, if you didn't want to use the cute little critters.

For my project, I decided to make a little 3x3 note box filled with some little note cards. I love having these on hand. These little cards are the perfect size to slip into lunch boxes or to hide a little message around the house for a nice surprise.

Here is a picture of the box:

Here is a picture of the card:

And a picture of both the card and box:

For my box, I used some card stock from recollections and cut the title out of the Lyrical Letters cricut cartridge. You can find the instructions on how to make the box HERE. My cards measure 3x3 and I cut my zebra out of Create A Critter at 2.5". There are 6 cards total in the box with envelopes.

Throwback Thursday Challenge

Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. :) I was able to get a card done for Emma's Throwback Thursday challenge. Yay! The rules for the challenge are to use a Retired Cartridge of your choice and make a project with it. I love this challenge! I have so many retired cartridges that I never seem to use anymore so this was the perfect opportunity to dust them off and play. :)

I decided to get a jump on my Christmas cards for this year and when I noticed that Christmas Cheer was on the list of retired carts, it worked out perfectly! Here is my card:

It normally takes me a few times designing my Christmas cards before I find one that I like enough to send out to family and friends but I really like how this one turned out, so this may be the one! For my card, I used Christmas Cheer and cut out the Santa suit at 2.5" You can't see it very well in the picture but, there is white flocking on all the white pieces of his suit. I used a stamp from My Creative Time's Inspiring Words (Accents) set. They go perfectly together don't you think?

Happy Friday! Are you guys ready for another fun challenge over at Cricut 360? This week is all about the good old west! So let's go, Yee-Haw and see your old west type of projects. Feel free to use any cartridge that you would like.

Here is the card I made:

I had so much fun making this card. My daughter who is still home from college this summer, helped me with it and we made it together. She suggested the staple in the corner and the twine and I am so glad she did cause I think it really makes a difference. The boot was cut from Just Because Cards at 3" and "Howdy" was cut from Create A Critter at 1.5".

Thanks for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my latest creation! I really appreciate it. Don't forget to head over to Cricut 360 to check out what the rest of the Design Team came up with to inspire you and to enter the challenge! I look forward to seeing what you create. Cricut 360 Challenge #6

Happy Friday! Are you guys ready for another great challenge week at Cricut 360? This week's challenge is all about the summer heat that most of us are feeling. I know we are in my area. Ugh! So since we are feeling Hot Hot Hot, your challenge this week is to make a project that is refreshing. Use any cartridge that you would like.

Here is the card that I made:

And a side view:

I don't know what it is about Easel cards, but I love making them. Ok, onto the details of my card. I used Life Is A Beach and cut my tropical drink and all it's layers out at 4". I used my swiss dots embossing folder to emboss my card front. My card size is a 4" square card closed, so it is still pretty easy to mail.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation. I really appreciate it. Don't forget to stop by Cricut 360 to see the rest of the Design Teams projects as well as entering the challenge! I look forward to seeing what you create! Have a great crafty day!

Yay!

The challenge this week is a cake/cupcake with birthday wording on the front. Here is what I came up with:

Cooking With Cricut #45

Happy Wednesday! Are you guys ready for another fun challenge at Cooking With Cricut this week? In honor of Columbus setting sail on this date in 1492, you are challenged to incorporate a sailboat or sailboat inspired theme into your projects.

Here is what I did:

I decided to make a Congrats card for a new baby boy. I cut my boat and frames out of Just Because Cards. The frames were cut at 4.75" and 4.5". The boat was cut at 3". I ran the card base as well as the top frame layer through the cuttlebug and stamped my sentiment directly onto the sailboat.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and looking at my latest creation. I really appreciate it. Tacky Tuesday's Challenge #9

Happy Tuesday! Are you guys ready for another great challenge from Tacky Tuesday's? The cut for this month is a berry/fruit and the word you must use in your sentiment is Berry.

This is what I came up with:

For my card, I used Everyday Pop-Up Cards cricut cartridge and cut out my image at 3.25". I then used some dimensionals to pop it up off of the card to give it some more dimension.

I hope you join us for this month's Tacky Tuesday's challenge. You have 2 weeks to enter. You can find out all the details of the challenge as well as seeing what the rest of the Design Team created for your inspiration at Ruthie's Blog, September Ninth.
