Shopping Our Stash #288

Hey everyone and happy Tuesday!!
It's time for a new challenge over at

This week challenge #288 is....
Days Of Yore
(Make something with a Vintage/Shabby Chic/Distressed Look)
Here is what I created:

Confession time, I struggled with this challenge. I think Shabby Chic is gorgeous but it just doesn't seem to be my style so I was at odds with myself as to what to do and wasn't sure I could pull it off. I turned to my Cricut and found this sweet little lock image from the Victorian Romance Cricut Cartridge and that ended up being my starting point lol! I found some papers in my stash that I thought had a shabby chic feel to them and started building my card. I distressed the edges of my patterned paper, inked it and wrapped some ribbon and lace around it before adding it to my card base. I added my lock and added some clear Wink Of Stella to it for a little shimmer. I have a shoebox filled with paper flowers so I dusted it off and took a look inside (I never use them lol) and found these sweet pink ones that I added to the bottom corner. I added some pearl spray that I had left over from a mini album that I did in 2013!! I die cut some butterflies, added more wink of stella and then attached them to my card. I have a habit of buying these little metal keys from the little dollar bins from Michael's whenever I see them. Not sure why since I don't really use them lol! I added one to the the middle of my bow with a little glue. My card still looked like it was missing something to me so I looked around in my sticker bin and found some little Small Talk stickers from Tim Holtz and thought it was perfect! I trimmed it a little so that it fit between the pearls on my lock. I know Shabby Chic is not my area of "expertise" but I don't think I did too bad lol! I think my card came out kinda pretty and i am really happy with it :)

Neglected Items From My Stash That I Used Are:
  • Victorian Romance Cricut Cartridge. Can't remember ever using it and have probably had it for at least 2 years.
  • Beautiful Wings Embosslits. Received this from a friend about a year ago and used it for the first time on this.
  • Pearl Spray. Scraps left over from a previous project.
  • Key
  • Small Talk Stickers. Bought them for Project Life about 6 months ago. Used them for the first time here.
  • Distress Tool. Can't remember last time it was used, if ever. lol
Be sure to stop by the Shopping Our Stash challenge blog to see the amazing creations my design team sisters created. I hope you will decide to play along with us, I would love to see what you create.

  6. Stacey, the first thing that caught my eye on your card was that beautiful paper, love it, reminds me of the curtains in my grandma's kitchen. Awesome collection of details, I love the key and the shimmery flowers.
Shabby Chic is not my forte, I did struggle a little with my card, when I saw yours, I thought this came easy for you.
    Beautiful job.
