Jaded Blossom's May Release Blog Hop!

Hey Everyone!
If you're here from Lee-Ann's Blog you're in the right place, if you're just passing through start at the beginning because you don't want to miss a thing.  I will also have the complete line up at the bottom.

Here is a look at what I made:

First up is a sweet little birthday card!
I used the Stitched Square Dies to cut out some teal blue cardstock as well as some Kraft cardstock. I used the Tropical Dies to create some hills on my Kraft cardstock and layered them all together onto the teal blue square. I used the Make A Splash Gnomie stamp set to stamp my greeting using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I tucked some seaweed that I cut out using the Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons in between the sand layers and added that fun clam shell that I created using the Fancy Shell Die. I die cut a piece of vellum using the Scallop Square Dies, added my scene on top & popped up the entire piece onto a white 4.25" square card base.

Next, I wanted to create a little treat box to accompany my card.

Super cute right?
I started by die cutting my box using white cardstock and the Handled Gift Box Die. I used the stitched rectangle that comes with the Handled Gift Box Die as a base for my scene. I die cut some blue patterned paper to act as my water and some Kraft cardstock to act as my ocean floor, using the Tropical dies to create the top sand edge. I used some distress ink to ink the edges and popped it up onto my blue layer with foam tape. I kept the foam tape towards the middle/bottom of the sand so that I could easily tuck my decorative elements in. I used the Gnome Dies: Mermaid Add Ons to cut out my seaweed, coral, shell and mermaid and layered them onto my stitched rectangle piece. Before adhering it to the front of my box, I laid it on my box and positioned my stamp so I knew where the sentiment from the Mermaid To Be Friends stamp set fit best. Once it was stamped, I adhered my scene and built my box. I used the Bow Dies to create a double bow and glued it to a mini clothespin as a way to keep my box closed. I added some fun little enamel shapes as well as some Nuvo drops to the front.

I added some paper shred and salt water taffy to the inside.

I think this turned out to be a fun little gift and oh so cute!

And of course we have to have a deal for you right?
