Life is a Bowl of Cherries

Hi Everyone!
Happy Thursday!

Today I get to share with you another project using that awesome

I decided to make a fun little card that will hopefully brighten someone's day with that cute little sentiment!
After I stamped my sentiment, I ran it through my cuttlebug with one of the dies from the Big Scallop Rectangles Small die set from Spellbinders. I popped it up on my card with some foam adhesive. I also stamped it onto some of my patterned paper so that I could fussy cut it out and adhere it to my bowl to give my card a little more depth. For my cherries, I simply added some of that awesome CANDi. One cherry is glued down, the other is popped up with some CANDi Fix.

Doesn't the CANDi make those cherries pop?

There are so many great colors and patterns in the CANDi line!

Use It Tuesday #50---Un-Inked Stamp

Hi Everyone!
Are you guys ready for another great challenge from

Use It Tuesday is a challenge blog that encourages you to use all those hoarded supplies.
You know, the stuff we as crafters have to have and then just never seem to use it lol!
Wait, is that just me???

For Challenge #50, you are being asked to get Inky and ink up a stamp that you have never used before.
There is also an extra challenge of using Gold on your project.

Here is the card that I created for the challenge:

I decided to make a little note card, perfect for all the upcoming Graduation gifts although I think it would be nice to also give to someone just because.

Let me tell you about my hoarded supplies:
  • The sentiment that I used came from a Studio G $1 stamp from Michael's that I bought about 1 year ago. This was the first time I inked it up.
  • The gold metallic card stock that I used for my butterfly punch out, has been in my stash for over 3 years.
  • I went and added some Gold stickles to the centers of my flowers on my patterned paper. The stickles have been in my stash for well over 4 years and it is almost full since I hardly ever use it.
It feels wonderful to go through my stash and rediscover forgotten items that have been purchased!
I hope you will head over to Use It Tuesday and play along with us in the challenge.
You can read all the details and see all the wonderful projects that my amazing DT sisters came up with on the Use It Tuesday challenge blog.
Challenge ends March 8, 2013

I look forward to seeing what you create!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!
I hope you have a wonderful crafty day!

Easter Basket made from Envelopes found on your Cricut Cartridges

Hi Everyone!
Happy Monday!

I am hosting a project this month in the FB group called Play Along.
While I was searching and racking my brain trying to come up with an idea for my project
I saw this cute little Easter box made from Envelopes on YouTube from
Craftincarolinas  and was inspired!
You can see her video by clicking HERE

I thought her box and bunny were so adorable that I wanted to recreate it but
I do not have that die nor do I have all those punches but I do have a Cricut and I wanted to try and make mine into a little basket so
I set out trying to recreate her adorable bunny and box from shapes that I found on my Cricut cartridges.

Here is what I came up with:
*warning: photo HEAVY!*

I cut out 4 envelopes at 4.25" using my Artiste Cricut Cartridge.
The envelope that I used is on page 73 in the handbook (Card Shift feature)

After they were all cut out, I lined up the notches on my score board and started scoring.
I folded as if I was making an envelope except for the flap you would typically use to seal the envelope.
That got folded over in the opposite direction:

Then I added a strip of score tape to only one flap on each envelope:

I then adhered a taped side to a non taped side to connect the envelopes:

After all 4 sides are adhered:

To make mine into a basket, I simply laid it down and cut a one inch slit with my craft knife right along the score line of the flap.
I did this to 2 opposite sides:

Then I added adhesive to the bottom flaps. It needs to be a strong adhesive to support the weight of the goodies that are going to go inside. I used Scrappy Tape.
You want to adhere the adhesive on the outside of one flap, then the inside of the next flap, outside then inside again.
Important! Do not take off the liner for your tape yet!

Before I assembled the bottom flaps and the handle,
I wanted to put my patterned paper on my basket.
I cut 2 strips of patterned paper that measured
2.75" wide by 12" long. There was an overlap, but I didn't mind that.
This is the size that I found worked best for my size basket,
you may need to adjust yours depending on the size of your basket.

Now it is time to remove your adhesive liner and adhere your bottom flaps together to form your basket:

I then attached my handle.
My handle measure 1" wide by 11" long.
I added some strong adhesive to the inside bottom of the handle on each side and slipped it through the slit that I had cut previously:

I added a little foam adhesive to each flap so that they would lay down somewhat but still have some dimension:

Now it is ready to decorate:

On Craftincarolinas YouTube Video, she made the cutest bunny using punch art.
I don't have very many circle or oval punches so once again I turned to my cricut.
Here are the sizes that I cut out using George & Basic Shapes Cricut Cartridge:
I assembled my bunny the same exact way that she did in her video HERE

Here is my finished basket:

I think it came out so darling!
I would like to thank Craftincarolinas for the wonderful inspiration!

Treasured Friends

Hi Everyone!
Happy Saturday!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!
Today I get to show you another project for Dr. Phil Scraps!
I decided to make a card with some great products from the Chantilly line.

For my card, I cut an image from the "A Child's Year" cricut cartridge out at 2.25" and paired that adorable  image with some of those beautiful papers in the Chantilly Paper Packet (X7163B).  The white layer is Colonial White (1388)

For the middle of my bow, I didn't want to leave it plain but I also wanted something a little different than just a regular button. I decided to use one of the fabric badge buttons from the
I love the way that looks!

The sentiment also came from the Chantilly Paper Packet (X7163B). I simply punched out one of the phrases along the top border.

Here is a close up of the fabric badge button, the detail in the awesome patterned paper and the sentiment:

I think this is the perfect card for a Treasured Friend :)

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!
Are you guys ready for another great challenge from
Cut It Up?

Challenge #13
"Pinterest Inspired"
Create a paper project that was inspired by something you saw on pinterest. If you do not have a Pinterest, feel free to get inspiration from a fellow crafter. Very Important, give credit to the original source in your blog post!! Must use a die cut!

Challenge starts Feb. 22 and ends March 6

For my project, I decided to make something very similar to this card that I found on Pinterest by Vicki of Wizard's Hangout. You can find her card HERE

Here is the card that I created:

I loved the design of Vicki's card so I kept mine really similar, I just changed up the colors, made it a Hello card and added some pearls in each corner.

For my die cuts, I used the Hannah Montana Cricut cartridge and cut out my butterfly at 2". I also used a classic scallop circle die from Spellbinders.

A huge thank you to Vicki of Wizard's Hangout for the wonderful inspiration!
Her blog is fabulous! If you want to check out her blog, just click HERE

Hats & Sentiment Stamps

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Today is the start of a brand new challenge at
as well as

Pause Dream Enjoy (PDE) Ch#4 Use a HAT
Paper Playtime (PPT) Ch#4 Use a Sentiment Stamp
Begins: Monday, Feb 18
Ends: Sunday, Mar 3
Winner announced in the WINNERS Page Tab at Paper Playtime and Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges.

Here is my project incorporating both challenges:

For the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #4--Use a Hat,
I used my Forever Young Cricut Cartridge and cut out this super cute hat and all it's layers at 1.5".
The mat that the hat is sitting on was cut out of the Elegant Edges cricut cartridge at 3.75".
Both the mat and the hat were popped up with some foam adhesive to give it some dimension.

For the Paper Playtime Challenge #4--Use a Sentiment Stamp,
I used a stamp from Joy's Life from the set titled Sweet Popsicle Puns.
I thought the "Hello Friend" made this card a super cute just because card.
I punched out my sentiment using the word window punch from SU! and layered that on top of a punch from the modern label punch also by SU!

Memo Board

Hi Everyone!
Happy Saturday!
Today I get to show you another project for Dr. Phil Scraps!
I decided to make a fun little project that uses some fabric from the

It's a memo board!

I fell in love with this fabric as soon as I saw it, especially the Buttercup Polka Dot pattern.

All I did was take a 8x10 canvas frame and wrap it with some batting, then the fabric, then I criss crossed some narrow ribbon and added some buttons. I attached everything on the back side using a staple gun.

For my little heart button, I took a chipboard button, adhered some glue and added the fabric.
Once it was dry, I simply cut around the chipboard and Voila! A matching embellishment!

Here is a close up of the board:

And one final photo of the board being used:

I love it!

If you love playing with fabric, then you will definitely want to check out the

You get three different patterns in the set and all 3 patterns are gorgeous!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi everyone!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Today I am going to show you a really fun way that I will be packaging up some Valentine treats.

I decided to make a little paper bag purse to fill with some candy for my daughter and her roomies at college.

I can fit quite a bit of candy in here.

Here is a side view so you can see the paper bag:

I also put some Craftwork Cards CANDi on my little purse.
Here is a close up of that:

I love how the Regal Silver CANDi gave my little purse the look of having metal on there, like a real purse.
The great thing is the CANDi is so lightweight, that my purse is still nice and light.

Use It Tuesday #49---Fasteners

Hi everyone!
Are you guys excited for another great challenge theme starting today at

This week is about using up some of your stash of Fasteners: buttons, brads, & eyelets.

When I first started scrapbooking 6 years ago, I was in awe of all the cute little brads that I would find.
Somewhere along the way, I stopped using all the cute, shaped ones and just stuck to regular round brads.
For this challenge, I decided to go through my stash of brads and find some that may be feeling a bit neglected from non-use.

Here is the card that I created for this challenge:

See those balloons?
Those are brads that have been in my stash for 6 years!!!
Whoa!!!

Let me tell you a little bit about the rest of my card.
For my teddy bear, I used the Teddy Bear Parade cricut cartridge and cut her out at 3".
I decided to use a peachy keen stamp for her smile, I can't remember the last time I used those stamps.
I used some stickles for her hat, cupcake icing and the flame on the candle.
The sentiment I used came from a stamp set from CardzTV stamps. I bought that stamp set back in November I think and just opened it for this card.
Before attaching my brads to the yellow cardstock, I added a glue dot behind each balloon and attached a piece of hemp cord for the balloon string. Then all I had to do was attached all my layers to my card base, attach my teddy bear and then add a little bit of glossy accents to her hand to hold the strings in place.

You can read all about the challenge and see the wonderful projects that my DT sisters created at the
Challenge ends Feb. 22, 2013.

I hope you will dig in your stash, find some Fasteners and come play with us, we would love to see what you create!

Valentine Card

Hi everyone!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

Today I get to show you another project for
Dr. Phil Scraps!

With Valentine's Day just a few days away,
I was in the mood to make a card for the occasion.

As you can see, I stayed with the traditional
colors of red and white.
I kept my card pretty simple so that the
 sentiment stood out.
I popped my sentiment up on some foam adhesive, added a ribbon bow and a button with some twine threaded through it for some dimension.

For my sentiment, I used 2 different stamp sets.
The frame inside my white circle came from
I don't have the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge that coordinates with this stamp set but that's okay :)
You can use them all on their own or in my case, I just found a cartridge that had a circle for this particular frame stamp that I wanted to use.
All I did was cut a circle from the Cricut Essentials (preloaded on the E2) out at 2".

The second stamp I used was the "I Love You" found on the
There are so many cute images and sayings on that set!

Here is a close up of the stamped images:

I hope you enjoyed my card that I shared with you today!
I will be back next Saturday with another Dr. Phil Scraps project to show you.

I hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

Hi everyone!
Happy Friday!

Today marks the beginning of another fabulous challenge at

I'm so excited for this one!
It's going to be a blast!

Challenge #12

Challenge will run from Feb. 8, 2013 to Feb. 20, 2013 (noon EST)

For my project, I decided to make a card using my Spongebob Squarepants Cricut Cartridge:

I love this image on the cartridge and I thought this sentiment was perfect for him!
He sure does look like he is having a great time dancing and being silly :)

For more added fun, I attached Spongebob with an Action Wobble so that the person receiving this card can actually make him dance.

So fun!

PDE & Paper Playtime Challenge #3

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready to start off your week with another great challenge from Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges
as well as Paper Playtime!

Pause Dream Enjoy (PDE) Ch#3 MAINLY RED
Paper Playtime (PPT) Ch#3 Use a Border Punch
Begins: Monday, Feb 4
Ends: Sunday, Feb 17
Winner announced in the WINNERS Page Tab at Pause Dream Enjoy and Paper Playtime.

Here is my project incorporating BOTH challenge themes:

I decided to make a fun little mailbox for my hubby filled with some Valentine candy.
I love getting these little metal mailboxes every year.
I find them at Target in the dollar spot. Since they are only $1 (at least they were last year), I try to stock up on them whenever I see them.

For the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge--Mainly Red, I used as much red as I could. I found this patterned paper in my stash and loved the polka dots and thought it would be fun on my little mailbox.
The "Kiss Me" was cut out of the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge. I cut both the shadow and phrase at 2".It was a perfect fit for the front.

For the Paper Playtime Challenge--Use a Border Punch, I used my Lace Heart Border punch and made a border for the middle of my mail box.

Here is a picture of the front open so you can see all the candy:
As you can see, it holds quite a bit.
That will make my hubby very happy! lol!
