A Gnomie Hello

Happy Thursday!!

Today I have a super fun card to show you that I made for the

I love all the little Gnomes in the
You Gnome Me set from My Favorite Things.
I have had this set for a little while yet but hadn't used it so I was pretty excited to pull it out to use for this challenge.

Here is a look at the sketch:

Here is the card that I created based on the sketch:

Super cute gnome huh?
I stamped him onto a die cut circle and then masked him off so that I could stamp the mushroom behind him. I then stamped the little snail on top of the mushroom and began all my coloring. I used my Copics to color my image and I free hand drew some little sprigs of grass. I also took my white gel pen and added some little dots and doodle here and there on my image. The greeting is also from the You Gnome Me set and I popped that up with some foam tape for a little dimension.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog and take a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!

I hope you have a great crafty day!!

Avery Elle Sparkle Challenge

Hi crafty friends!!

Today I was able to find a little time to color and craft so I decided to play along in the

http://aeiheartuchallenge.blogspot.com/

Here is the card that I created for the challenge:

For my card, I used that adorable little elephant from the Ellie stamp set from Avery Elle. I stamped her onto a piece of Copic cardstock and colored her in with my Copics. I then masked her off so that I could add the balloon string as well as the grass sprigs, also from the Ellie stamp set. For my clouds, I drew some onto some post it paper, cut them out and used them for masks. I inked my sky using some distress ink. My balloon was stamped and then fussy cut out of some pink glitter cardstock from DCWV. I finished off my card with some ribbon and some bling in the corners.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and take a look at my latest creation!

Happy Tuesday!!

Are you guys ready for another great challenge from Scrappy Moms Stamps??

Photobucket

The theme for this terrific Tuesday challenge is:
Time To Play!
Incorporate game/playing into your project.

Here is the card that I created for this challenge:

For my card, I decided to make a masculine birthday card. They are definitely not my strong point but I think this one came out pretty good. My entire family loves playing video games so when I saw this file in the silhouette store, I had to have it! For my greeting, I used the Hooray For Birthdays stamp set from Scrappy Moms Stamps

Card Harmony - Chance of Rain

Happy Monday!!
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and that your Monday is going well!

Have you guys seen the card series that Ashley and Fern Bainbridge do? They make a card using the same stamp set to see how different or alike their cards turn out. It's pretty cool. Well, my bestie, Kimberly, and I were inspired by them to try this out.

We have a little twist with ours. Each month, Kimberly and I are taking turns buying each other a stamp set. We don't know what is being bought until we receive it in the mail so it stays a surprise until then. Once we receive the stamp set, we get to work on making our card. Sometimes there may even be a little extra challenge. Then on the third Monday of every month, we plan on showing our cards. Our new series will be called, Card Harmony.

For the month of July, Kimberly purchased the stamp set Chance of Rain by Mama Elephant for us to use with the added twist of making an encouragement card and using bright uplifting colors.

Here is the card that I created:

This stamp set has been on my wish list so I was ecstatic to receive it and couldn't wait to play! Thanks Kimberly!! I decided to use the Sunkissed pattern papers from Doodlebug for my card. I love the bright colors in this set!! I colored the skin and hair on my little kiddo and paper pieced the raincoat, boots and umbrella. I embossed my blue layer with a cloud embossing folder and then sanded the edges of the clouds just a little for the white core to show through. I'm so happy with how it turned out and I hope Kimberly enjoys it as well.

Be sure to check out Kimberly's blog, Kimberly's Crafty Spot to see the awesome card that she made!! Here is a little sneak peek of her card:

Scrappy Moms Stamps July Release Project 2

Happy Sunday!!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!
Today I have another project to share with you for the
Scrappy Moms Stamps July stamp release.

For this project I used the new stamp set titled:

I love the cute little smiley face on this stamp set so I decided to do some embossing resist and make a fun rainbow type of pattern with some of my distress inks. I simply used some white embossing powder and then rubbed some distress all over the white cardstock panel. The embossing resists the ink. Cool huh? I finished off my card by using that super cute greeting, also from the Random Acts of Kindness stamp set.

Here is another look at the stamp sets that were released on Friday:

Scrappy Moms Stamps July Release

Happy Friday!!!

Today Scrappy Moms Stamps is releasing two new stamp sets!!
WooHoo!!!

Here is the first card that I created for this release using the new stamp set titled

This little cowboy boot card from the Silhouette store was so cute and I thought it went perfectly with the new Cowboy Up! stamp set. My mom and I often say Howdy to each other instead of Hello so this card will be perfect to send to her and I really think she will get a kick out of it and love it!!

This is a swing card. The two boot layers are held together with a brad so that the card swings open.

DCWV July Stack-a-holic Challenge

Hey everyone!!
I hope your Wednesday is going great!!

Today I have a card to show you that I made for the

The sketch is so fun for this month!
As soon as I saw it, I immediately thought of a welcome baby card with little dresses hanging.
Here is what I made:

For my card, I used the Nana's Nursery Baby Girl for all of my patterned papers. One of the prints in the stack has some really cute little dresses on it. I simply fussy cut some of them out so that I could hang them across my gift card pocket. I added some glossy accents to the dresses. I finished off my card with a few pearl touches

All I had laying around my house to use as a template for my pocket was a Itunes gift card. When the time comes to give this card to someone, there will be a more appropriate gift card purchased haha! This one was just to show what goes in the pocket. :)

Terrific Tuesday Challenge---Use A Star

Happy Tuesday!

Are you guys ready for another great challenge from Scrappy Moms Stamps??

Photobucket

The theme for this Terrific Tuesday Challenge is:
Twinkle Twinkle!
Use a star on your project.

Here is the card that I created for the challenge:

I love that greeting from the Designer's Choice 2 stamp set! I thought some glittery stars would be the perfect compliment to it. I simply cut out a lot of stars from some glitter cardstock using a a couple of different size star dies. I randomly placed them all over my white cardstock layer. I trimmed off any that were hanging over and attached that panel to my card base. I stamped my greeting onto another piece of white cardstock and added a blue glitter star and layered that on top of some pink glitter cardstock and then some black cardstock. I attached that little panel using some foam tape for a little dimension. I finished off my card by adding some silver star confetti to fill in some of the gaps. I also traced over the word SPARKLE with my clear wink of stella glitter pen. Such an easy card to put together but I love the way it turned out. It has so much more sparkle to it in real life.

Hello Friend!

Happy Sunday!

I hope your weekend has been wonderful so far.

Today I have a fun card to share with you that I made using some of that awesome
Washi Tape from Love My Tapes!

For my card, I used some Turquoise Chevron tape from Love My Tapes and put it all over a piece of white cardstock to create a fun background. I then used a die from Darice to cut out my stamped image from Jane's Doodles and wrapped some bakers twine around the two pieces and adhered that to my card base. No need to have patterned paper when you have tape as fun as that Turquoise Chevron tape! I finished off my card by adding some glossy accents to the center's of the flowers and added some sequins.

MFT Sketch 236 Challenge

Hi everyone and happy happy Friday!!!
I hope you have some exciting plans for the weekend!

Last night I was able to play along with the sketch challenge going on over at the

Here is a look at the sketch:

An here is the card that I created based on the sketch:

My daughter and I had a lot of fun coloring images together for the June 30 Day Color Challenge hosted by Kathy from The Daily Marker. The above penguin from the Penguins in Paradise set was actually colored by my daughter during one of those days! She did such an amazing job that I couldn't wait to put that little guy onto a card. She loves to color but cardmaking....not so much lol! I simply fussy cut him out and adhered him to a die cut circle that I inked up with some distress inks to create a little scene. The fun and bright papers from Doodlebug were perfect for the summery feel that I was going for. I finished off my card with a few enamel dots.

Yay!!

Today I have a fun little card to show you that features one of those

I love love love all things nautical, especially anything Navy related so I had to have this cute little Sailor to make a card with him. For my card, I used some fun patterned papers from Carta Bella. Once I had my base layers added to the actual card base, I got to work on building the cute little Anchor Bear. After I had him all assembled, I placed him onto some light blue paper, also from Carta Bella and stamped my greeting from Scrappy Moms Stamps along the top. I think he is absolutely adorable!!

Christmas In July

Happy Monday!
I hope your week is off to a great start so far!

Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that I made for a couple of challenges.
I love Christmas in July!!
Nothing like creating some cards that make you wish you were in cold weather when it is so warm out right? I love snow and cold! I know, I'm weird right? lol

Ok enough rambling, onto my card:

For my card, I used some papers from the Festive paper pack from Authentique. I love the distress/vintage feel these papers have! I then wrapped some satinn ribbon around my card layer separating the two different patterned papers. I then used the labels four die from Spellbinders to cut out my cream cardstock layer. Isn't that Santa the cutest? He is from the Old Fashion Santa set from KaDoodle Bug Designs. There are a few Santa's in this set and they are all adorable!! After I assembled and adhered him to my cream cardstock layer, I added some white liquid applique to his  hat and suit. I took my heat gun and ran it over the liquid applique so that it would fluff up. I finished off my card with a few pearls, glossy accents and some clear Wink Of Stella.

This card will be linked to the following challenges:

Happy 4th Of July!!

Happy Thursday!!

I have a super simple shaped card to share with you today that features one of the
Cutie KaToodles from KaDoodle Bug Designs.

For my card, I used some circle dies from We R Memory Keepers to create my card base and light blue inner layer. I then cut out that adorable little Cutie KaToodle Bald Eagle and popped him up onto the front of the card. I thought it would be cute if was was holding a little banner flag while he was whizzing by on his firecracker so I stamped my greeting from Scrappy Moms Stamps onto some white cardstock and notched out the ends and cut a thin strip of red cardstock and voila! I simply glued the red strip to his wing and put some foam adhesive behind the banner flag.

This weekend is going to be pretty busy around my house so in case I don't get back on here before then, I hope all that are celebrating the Fourth Of July have a great one filled with lots of good food and great memories! Be safe out there this weekend!!
