Valentine's Card with CANDi

Hi everyone!
Happy Thursday!

Today I get to share another project with you using that awesome

In honor of Valentine's Day approaching,
I decided to make a cute and simple card.

I used Create A Critter 2 and cut out that cute little frog at 3".
I added some yellow stickles to his crown to make it sparkle and shine.
For his little cheeks, I used the Icing Sugar CANDi and simply colored it with a Melon Mambo marker so that it matched my card stock perfectly.
I also added some Rainforest CANDi to the incorporate more of the green.

Here is a close up of the parts with the CANDi:

There are so many great patterns and colors in the CANDi line.

Aren't they fabulous?!?!
Yup, my daughter is a Harry Potter fan, big time!

I absolutely love all the detail that she puts into these pens!

Use It Tuesday #48--Warm It Up

Hi everyone!
Are you guys ready for another great Use It Tuesday challenge?

If you are anything like me, you have a bunch of stuff that has been bought and forgotten about.
Use It Tuesday is a challenge blog that encourages you to use all those hoarded supplies.

For challenge #48, you are being challenged to
Warm It Up!
Use red, orange and/or yellow.

Here is the card that I created for the challenge:

Let me tell you about some of my hoarded supplies that I used on my project.

I cut my flip flops out of my Car Decals cricut cartridge at 3".
I have had that cartridge for well over a year and have only used it once.

For my patterned paper,I dug through some old stacks and ran across a ColorBok one that I got at Wal-Mart at least 2 years ago.It had this great orange and white paper in there so I took the plunge and cut it for my card lol!

The bling in my flowers on my flip flops is from Doodlebug Designs. I have had those for 6 months and have never even opened the package until this project!

That pretty red ribbon actually came from around a set of pajama's that my daughter got for Christmas.

It feels so great to use up some of the items that I have purchased over the years!
If you are anything like me and have some forgotten stash, we would love it if you would play along with us!
So head over to Use It Tuesday to read all about the challenge and to see all the beautiful warm projects that my DT sisters came up with!
Challenge ends Feb. 1, 2013

Desserts and some Brown

Happy Monday!!

Are you guys ready for another great challenge from Pause Dream Enjoy AND Paper Playtime??

Pause Dream Enjoy (PDE) Ch#2 DESSERTS
Paper Playtime (PPT) Ch#2 Use some BROWN

Begins: Monday, Jan 21
Ends: Sunday, Feb 3
Winner announced in the WINNERS Page Tab on Paper Playtime and Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges.

You don't have to incorporate both challenges into one project if you do not want to, it just worked out that way for me :)
Here is my project that incorporates both challenges:

I decided to make a gatefold style card.
I cut my cupcake out of the doodlecharms cricut cartridge at 3".
I didn't want it to be a birthday card, so I simply just cut off the candle from the cupcake.
My scallop circles are from the Classic Scallop Circles spellbinders dies. I only adhered half of the circle to my card so that the card would open.

Here is what it looks like opened:

Dry Erase Board

Hi Everyone!
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!
Today I get to show you another project for Dr. Phil Scraps.

I decided to make a very simple and quick decor item for my desk.
A dry erase board

All I did was get a acrylic frame for $1 and instead of putting in a picture,
I decorated some card stock and slid that into the frame.
I love music! I would rather listen to my iPod than watch TV.
Whenever I am crafting, my music is playing so it made perfect sense to me to decorate my frame in a music theme. The stamp set titled "Sweet Music" item # D1523 was perfect! My craft space is done in deep purples so I also incorporated that into my decor item.

Here is a side view so you can see what type of frame I am talking about:

Not only does the Sweet Music (#D1523) set have some really cool images, there is this really great quote on there.

The great thing about making these frames is that they are so easy to switch out your decorated card stock so you can change the theme as often as you would like.
Whether it be seasons, holidays, etc.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Simple Layout with CANDi

Hi everyone!
Happy Thursday!
Today I am going to show you a simple and quick layout that uses that awesome

(you can click on the picture for a larger image)

I based my layout off of a sketch from Basic Grey: Basic Scrapbook Sketch 9.24.12
As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew right away what pictures I wanted to use.
Not to mention, all those circles in the sketch are perfect for CANDi.
These are pictures from my son's first birthday and they always bring a smile to my face whenever I look at them. :)

My layout now has a lot of dimension, without it being too bulky to fit into the
page protectors in my album.

Here is a close up of some of my CANDi:

I used Icing Sugar and School Days on my project:

Small Wonder

Hi everyone!
Happy Tuesday!
Today I got to play in my craft area for a little bit and I was able to create a quick little card for the challenge going on over at
"Baby New Year"
Make a card, layout or craft project for a new baby

Here is what I created for the challenge:

I cut that cute little baby in the stroller out of the Simply Charmed cricut cartridge at 2.5".
I used some foam adhesive to pop my stroller off of my card base just a little bit.
I embossed the top white layer with my Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder, then I adhered two strips of pink card stock punched with the Doily Lace punch to give the appearance of lace.
I glued a soft pink rose to the middle of my white satin bow and added some white pearls to the stroller wheels, the hair bow and each of the top corners.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and taking a look at my latest creation!
I really appreciate it!
I hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

Friendship Candy Box

Hi everyone!!
I'm so happy to be able to show you another project for

While flipping through the handbook for the Artiste Cricut Cartridge (item #Z1790),
I came across this cool little box on page 49 and cut it out at 5.75"
I decided to turn that into a little gift for a special friend.

(you can click on each picture to make it larger)

I thought it turned out so pretty!

The box is actually a slider.
The inside slides out to reveal the contents, which is candy!!

Who doesn't love candy??
I think it is the perfect little gift for a sweet friend.

Here is a close up of some of the details on the front of the box

Those rolled roses and that label also came from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge.
The rolled roses were found on page 52 (Accent 2) and were cut out at 2.5", 2" & 1.5"
The label was Accent 2 on page 80 and was cut out at 2.5"
The label being cut out at 2.5" was the perfect size to fit that perfect sentiment!
The sentiment came from the A Little Thanks (item # D1444) stamp set.
I used the Ruby Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad (item #Z2170) to stamp my sentiment
as well as inking the edges of my project and inking the tips of the roses.

I hope you enjoyed my project for today!
Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Cut It Up #10

Hi Everyone!
Happy Friday!

Today marks the beginning of another great challenge over at

Challenge #10
"In With The New"
Create a paper project with a new crafty item that you got for the holidays. Didn't get any crafty items? No worries, use something from your stash that you bought and have not used yet.
Project must also use a die cut.

Challenge will run from Jan. 11, 2013 to Jan. 23, 2013 (noon EST)

Here is the card that I made for the challenge:

For my new product, I used a new embossing folder called Cupcakes from The Paper Studio that I got for Christmas from my bestie.
Thanks Kimberly!

For my die-cut, I used the Lacy Labels cricut cartridge for my scallop oval, cut out at 3"
and I also used my classic ovals die from spellbinders for my pink oval.

My bling cupcake is from Studio G and I got it on clearance after Valentines Day last year,
so I was pretty happy to actually use it instead of just hoarding it. Haha!

The inside of my card reads,
"Hello Cupcake"
I thought that would be cute to either give as a Valentine's card or as just a note card to send to my daughter.

I hope you will head over to Cut It Up and see what my amazing DT sisters came up with for this challenge as well as entering the challenge yourself.
I would love to see what you create!

Use It Tuesday #47--Make It Sparkle!!

Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to be able to post my very first project as a
Use It Tuesday Designer!!
Use It Tuesday is a challenge blog that encourages you to use all those hoarded supplies.
If you are anything like me, you have a bunch of things that you had to have but never use them.
For challenge #47,you are being challenged to make it sparkle!
Here is the card that I came up with:

Let me tell you about my hoarded supplies that I used on my card....

For my patterned paper, I used some pretty glittery patterned paper from the Blossoms & Butterflies stack from DCWV. When I saw this stack over a year and a half ago, I HAD to have it!! I think I used it once.  It got put in with the rest of my stacks and sadly forgotten about.

My glitter chipboard frame, was bought from Target over a year ago and never ever used!
They came in a pack of 12 and I thought they were so pretty, not to mention they were only $1.
How could I not buy them right??

My bling is also over a year old. I have so much bling, I think it would take me years to get through it all.

So if you are anything like me and have a bunch of  "I have to have its"
but never use them, then I encourage you to head over to Use It Tuesday
so that you can use it :)

You can read all about the challenge and see all the beautiful sparkle projects that my DT sisters made
on the Use It Tuesday blog.

Ready To Learn Layout

Hi Everyone!
I'm pretty excited to bring you my very first post as a Creative Team Member for Dr. Phil Scraps!

I have a really simple and quick one page layout to show you all today.

I started out with using a sheet from the Scholastic Paper Packet (item X7159B) as my base.
I thought those numbers were so cool and perfect for a school layout!
Then, I cut out 11 circles out of the Ruby card stock, also from the Scholastic Paper Packet (item X7159B) from the Artiste cricut cartridge (all cut at 1") and layered those behind a sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 kraft card stock before adhering that to my base. After my kraft layer was adhered, it was time to embellish.
I cut out "Ready To Learn" from the Artiste cricut cartridge.
The cartridge has this really cool font on it:
I cut out each letter at 1" out of the Ruby cardstock that comes with the Scholastic Paper Packet (item X7159B)

While I was looking through my Artiste cartridge, I came across this neat little school crossing image on page  45 in the handbook and I thought it went perfectly with my layout.

I cut out my school crossing at 3.5"

Do you see those cool little journal labels in the picture above??
How easy is that for journaling a date, grade, name, etc?
There are a lot of really cool images and journaling blocks on that.
Then all I had to do was add some photo mats, wrapped with some hemp cording and buttons and then for my finishing touch, some faux stitching with a brown sharpie marker.
Easy and simple!
I love layouts like that :)

I hope you enjoyed my layout today!
I will be back next week with a new project for you.

I hope you have a fabulous crafty day!

You Mocha Me Happy

Hi Everyone!
Happy Thursday!
Only one more day until the weekend! Woot Woot!

Today I get to share another project with you that uses that awesome

I love this stuff!
It is so versatile and light weight, yet gives your projects the perfect amount of dimension!

For my project, I decided to make a card to give to my hubby.

I cut my Frap drink out of the Love You A Latte Cricut Cartridge at 3".
The frame is from Elegant Edges and was cut out at 3.5"
For my frosting, I used some white enamel accents and while it was still wet, sprinkled some loose glitter on it.
I love how the CANDi gives my card that extra "pop"!

For my project, I used the Rainforest CANDi:

There are so many great patterns and colors in the CANDi line!
