Made With Heart Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to the Made With Heart Blog Hop! If you got here from Kristin's Blog, you are in the right spot. If you just so happened to stumble across my blog and the hop today, please go to Kristin's Blog to start at the beginning. You aren't going to want to miss any of these stops, there are a lot of talented ladies on this hop and I am sure you are going to get a lot of inspiration today. :)

Let's get started. :) For my project, I decided to make a little container to hold some candies in out of a plastic chinese take-out box that I got from the dollar store. I also made a cute little card using some sweet treat cups.

Cute huh? (You can click on the picture to enlarge) The container was so simple to make! I stamped my images from the Filled with Love Stamp set from SU! and embossed them with white embossing powder. I popped them up on the container with some dimensionals and added some real red ribbon around the box and tied a knot. I cut some ribbon strips to decorate the handle and that was it! So simple to make but I think it looks so cute and perfect for Valentines Day.

For my sweet treat cup card, that was a little bit more challenging. I couldn't figure out how to make it so the card wasn't destroyed when it was time to take out the candy. I found this great tutorial on how to make a trap door, so that is what I ended up doing. Once I watched the video, it all made sense and was also really simple to do.

Now, what is a Valentine hop without a little candy? I am offering up the following prize to one lucky follower of my blog:

You will get, 1 package of Basic Grey Undressed self adhesive chipboard and 1 package of Making Memories Vintage Findings 8 x 8 paper pad. All you have to do is

1. Be or become a follower of my blog

and

2. leave me a comment
(make sure you leave a way for me to contact you if you win)

Super simple right? I will have random.org pick a winner on the morning of Monday Jan. 24, 2011

There is Snowman like You!

Hello! I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I did a little crafting last night, and hope to do more today so my week is starting to look up a little. :)

I made this card for the challenge over at Cricut Cardz Challenge. The challenge is to make a project with a snowman, with any cartridge and any colors. I decided to make my snowman with my Winter Frolic cartridge.

I cut the snowman and all his layers from the Winter Frolic cartridge out at 4". I added some paper tearing across the bottom to give it a little snow interest. The inside reads, "There is Snowman like You". This card is so sparkly in person. I don't think the camera (or my picture taking)picked that up very well. The patterned paper has glitter on every snowflake, the paper snow strips have glitter on them and the snowman is outlined in glitter. So cute!

Be My Valentine

Happy Wednesday! Are you ready for another great Cooking with Cricut challenge? This week is Challenge #13, Use a minimum of 3 Flowers on Project. If you are stumped for ideas, check out Cooking with Cricut to see some sketches that you can incorporate into your projects this week, not to mention the great inspiration from the Cooking with Cricut Chefs! Here is what I came up with:

I am slowly making progress on all my valentine projects! Yay! It feels good to be a little ahead for once. I love this doily card from the Wild Card Cartridge! It is one of my favorites from that cartridge. I cut the doily card out at 5.5", as well as the pink liner. The girl on the scooter was cut out of the Sweethearts Cartridge at 3". I used a fiskars flower punch for my flowers, added some bling, some stickles, a bow and of course, some faux stitching. I am so happy with the way this turned out. I love how girly it is! :) Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and check out my latest creation! I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the challenge, so don't forget to head over to Cooking with Cricut to upload your take on the challenge. Have a great crafty day!

Hi! I hope everyone's week is off to a great start! I made this cute little bag for the challenge over at My Pink Stamper. She did a really cool blog hop with her DT, where you found a clue at each stop along the way. I thought this bag would be perfect to put a little gift in.

This cute little purse was made from the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge. I used fit to page and cut it out at 5.25". The Hello Kitty came from Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge cut out at 2". I put a little bow on the handle, added some dazzling diamonds to Hello Kitty and did some faux stitching around the edge of the purse. I think it came out super cute!

I cut out the layers at 5", did some embossing with my cuttlebug and added some glossy accents to the cheeks and the face. So super easy and I think it came out adorable! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today!

Note Pad Holder

Happy Friday! Are you all ready for the weekend? Friday marks the beginning of a new challenge over at Flaunt It Fridays. For this week's challenge we are flaunting the skull from the Mini Monsters cartridge on page 65. If you would like to enter our challenge please make a NON-Halloween project and we challenge you to make something different from what you made last week, for example if you made a card last week make a layout, altered item, etc. this week.

Here is what I came up with:

I found these cute little mini memo pads in a pack of 5 from the dollar store, so I decided to make a little mini notepad cover for this week's challenge. They are so simple to make. I cut my cardstock to 10.5" by 3.75" and scored at 5 1/8" and 5 3/8". Attched the notbook onto the inside back cover with some sticky strip and decorated the front. Easy Peasy! I haven't quite figured out what I will be using it for yet. I have thought about a food journal, a password keeper, or dare I say it.....a record of my crafty spending. Yikes! I am trying to get better this year and only buy what I need versus every cute thing I see. haha! Yeah right! Wish me luck on that! :)

I hope you liked my project and I am looking forward to seeing what you create for this week's challenge. So, head on over to Flaunt It Friday's and let us see what you come up with. Have a great crafty day!

Flaunt it Fridays Hello Kitty Blog Hop

Hi! Welcome to the Flaunt It Friday's Hello Kitty Blog Hop. If you got here from Carley's Blog then you are in the right spot. If you just so happened to stumble across the hop by visiting my blog and would like to start from the beginning, please go to the Flaunt It Friday's page to start from the beginning.

For this week's challenge we were asked to flaunt the Hello Kitty with Airplane on Page 65 from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cart. I am trying to get a jump start on my Valentine projects so this is what I came up with:

Isn't she just the cutest? I cut out the Hello Kitty in the Plane at 3". Since I was going with a Valentine theme, I covered the star on the plane with a heart from the SU! small heart punch. I chalked some clouds onto my white layer and added Hello Kitty onto the white layer with an action wobble to give her some movement. It's like she's really flying! :) The sentiment was printed out from my computer onto pink card stock and then I just trimmed it to make it look like a flying banner and attached it with some foam adhesive.

For my second project, we got to choose any cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge and I chose the HK9 image on page 49 in the handbook. I decided to stick with the Valentine theme and alter a mini paint can filled with some M&M's to give to someone on Valentine's Day. Here it is:

I just love how this turned out and am so pleased with it. Hello Kitty was cut out at 3" and then I stamped the sentiment into the middle of the heart with a SU stamp. I used my nestabilities for the scallop circles on the top of the can and then cut out the heart (from page 52) at 1.25". I then added lots of ribbon to the handle. Chances are pretty good that my son will be giving this to his girlfriend next month. :)

Now onto the blog candy. :) I am going to give away the following to one lucky winner:

Can you tell I am ready for spring? haha! One lucky follower of my blog will receive (pictured above) one butterfly mini album, one pack of fabric pink thickers and one pack of K & Co. stickers. All you need to do is:

1. Be a follower of my blog
&
2. Leave a me a comment.
(Make sure you leave a way for me to get ahold of you.)

Snow Fun

Good Wednesday morning! I am so excited to announce that I will be on the Cooking With Cricut Design Team! Yay! It is such a pleasure to be a part of this wonderful team and all the talented ladies on it.

This week's challenge over at Cooking With Cricut is to make a project with a Snow Fun Theme. Whenever my family plays out in the snow, we love to warm up by having some Snowman Soup, AKA hot chocolate. :)

The tag reads:

Snowman Soup
When the weather outside is frightful,
Snowman Soup can be delightful.
May it warm your spirit and your soul.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

When you feel a chill or 'brrrr',
Use the peppermint stick to stir.
Add hot water and sip it slow.
Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

The tag, a packet of hot chocolate, mini marshmallows, chocolate chips and a candy cane go inside the bag. How cute would these be to give as little gifts!

Now, let's get onto the specifics of the bag :) I bought a colored lunch bag for my project, but you could also just as easily use a regular brown lunch bag. I cut about an inch or so off of the top of the bag to make it 9" long. I made a little mat for the front of the bag to put the snowman on and decorated that and then attached it to the bag with just my atg adhesive. The snowman was cut using Doodlecharms cricut cartridge at 3". I used a border punch on the top of the bag and then folded over, punched some holes and ran some ribbon through and tied a bow.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and look at my project! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for the challenge. Head on over to Cooking with Cricut and join in on the fun! I hope you have a great crafty day!!

Supplies:

Cardstock--White (PaperTrey) & Pacific Point (SU!)
