MCT Inspiration Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!!
Everyone ready for the upcoming weekend? I hope you have a lot of fun things planned and maybe even a little crafting ;)

Today over at the My Creative Time blog, we are bringing you
Inspiration Wednesday!!
We will be bringing you projects based on something that has inspired us in some way.

I don't have a photo to show you of my inspiration but I will tell you about it :)
Last week we got blanketed with some of that pretty white stuff. Yep!, I'm talking about SNOW!
I know that is a much dreaded word for a lot of people but I LOVE it!!
Maybe because where I grew up we never got any. Anywho, now that we are living someplace where we get snow at least once a year (on average), I can't get enough of it! I love the way it sparkles when the sun hits it, the laughter of the children playing in it, driving out of my neighborhood and seeing all the fun snowpeople that had been built and remembering the days of when my children and I would go out and play in it and then come inside and have a nice hot cup of cocoa while we got warmed back up just to go back out and play some more. :) So last week when I was sitting inside watching the snow fall, I got inspired! I decided to make a little pocket box to put some hot cocoa packets in.

After I built my box, I added some patterned paper to the front. Then I knew I wanted to decorate a tag for the main focus of my box front. I used a tag from the Tag Dies set. I love that little scallop border along the bottom! I stamped my sentiment from the You're So Cool Stamp set and added some glitter to the bottom of my tag to replicate the sparkle of the snow.  How cute is that little snowman from the You're So Cool stamp set? I love him! I stamped him onto a piece of scrap paper and then fussy cut him out so that I would be able to pop him up with some foam adhesive. Once that was done, I simply adhered my tag to the front of my box. To finish it off, I added a little red bow that I made using the Fun Size Scallop Stitched Bow Die. I love those bows!! They are so adorable!

Here is a view of my box from the side so that you can see the dimension:

And inside the box, I was able to fit 2 packets of hot cocoa:

Yum-o!! I love cocoa!
I have a feeling this little box will be getting sent to my daughter who loves this hot chocolate more than I do, I think lol!

Be sure to check out the My Creative Time blog to see all the inspiring projects that my wonderfully talented Design Team sisters came up with! They never disappoint!

Brrrr!!

Hi there!
Happy Monday!!
Today I get to show you another project that uses that fun Mama's Mesh from LoveBug Creations!

Since it is still so cold almost everywhere, I decided to make this cute little card.

I stamped that cute little penguin using a stamp from Peachy Keen, colored him in a little bit and added a little pom pom to the top of his hat. I then added a strip of Mama's Mesh and a bow from the Merry Mesh Collection.

I love how versatile Mama's Mesh is!
You can use it for a accent or make it your focal point, the sky is the limit!

For my project, I decided to make a little Valentine gift.

I cut my little cake box from a file that I found in the Silhouette online store. It will hold quite a bit of candy!
For the top of my cake, I added some of the *NEW* Kisses Rumple Ribbon. In the center of my big loopy bow, I added one of the *NEW* Beautiful Blooms! I simply added some leaves cut out from a punch to the bottom of my bloom and adhered it to the top of my bow.

No gift would be complete without a card right?

For my card, I cut out my hearts from some My Creative Time dies. I used a heart border punch along the bottom. To finish off my card, I added some Simply White Rumple ribbon and then a *NEW* Beautiful Bloom to the middle of my bow.

Here is a picture of the box and the card together:

MCT Challenge

Hi everyone!
Happy Thursday!
Are you guys ready for a great challenge over at My Creative Time?

The first MCT challenge for 2014 is a sketch challenge!
I love sketches!!
Here is the sketch for this challenge:
(sketch from PageMaps Feb. 2013)

Here is the layout that I created using the sketch and some awesome

I updated the look of my bedroom not to long ago with the colors of pale blue and a pale yellow.  I wanted to be able to hang my layout in my bedroom, so when I found this 10"x10" square wood canvas panel at Walmart I went to work. I have a hard time finding coordinating things for my walls so I thought this was perfect!

Look at these awesome My Creative Time products that I used:

For my 2 hearts, I used the Stitched Sweetheart & XOXO Dies. I have always loved the "Live, Laugh & Love" phrase and having MCT's Lowercase Fun Dies, helped me incorporate that into my wall hanging. The little heart over the "i" came from the 4x4 Journal Die + More Set. Aren't those flowers gorgeous?? For those, I simply used Emma's Rolled Flower Die.

Here is the complete list of products that I used:
MCT: Stitched Sweetheart & XOXO Die
MCT: Lowercase Fun Die
MCT: 4x4 Journal Die + More
MCT: Rolled Flower Dies
Cardstock: Recollections
Patterned Paper: Today Tomorrow Forever (Recollections)

MCT 29th Release Blog Hop!

Happy Friday!!
Welcome to My Creative Time's 29th Release Blog Hop!!

I'm so glad you could join us today!
You should have arrived here from the very talented Miss Jessica of Chick-n-Scrap.
If you just happened to stumble across the hop today on my blog and would like to start at the beginning, be sure to head over to My Creative Time and see Miss Emma!

Today I would like to show you a little gift set that features one of the new dies:

My daughter is fixing to head back to college after winter break and I thought I would make her this little gift to take back with her. She loves coffee and white chocolate covered pretzels!

For my gift card holder, I used the Embossed Gift Card Holder and paired it up with some fun patterned paper. To decorate the front of the Embossed Gift Card Holder, I simply used the  *New* Winter Flake Die to add some gorgeous snowflakes to the front. I added some glitter to each snowflake and adhered them to my patterned paper. I let some of them hang off of the patterned paper a bit and then just trimmed them with my scissors before attaching it to the front of my gift card holder.  That sweet little sentiment came from the *New* You're So Cool Stamp Set.

For my paint can, I simply wrapped some patterned paper around the bottom. I then wrapped some white tulle around the top and tied it into a bow.

For the top of my lid, I used the Scallop & Stitched Circle Die and then used one of the small flakes from the *New* Winter Flake Die Set.

I think it came out so pretty and she loved it!

Supplies:
My Creative Time Products:
Cardstock: Recollections
Patterned Paper: Bundled Up (Crate Paper)
Ink: Jet Black (StazOn)
Misc.: Bling (Offray), Dazzling Diamonds Glitter (SU!), Tulle, Doily Lace Border Punch (Martha Stewart), Mini Paint Can
