Camp Create: Awesome Ombre!

Hi everyone! 

I'm back with a quick post to share the card that I created for 

Day 2 of Session 3 for MFT's Camp Create. 

Day 2 was all about Awesome Ombre!

To create my card, I used a stencil from Plaid for the fun background. I think the stencil was originally meant for fabric or walls but it worked for this just fine. I used a sponge applicator and some Mermaid Lagoon distress ink, going with a heavier hand at the bottom to lighter at the top to achieve the ombre effect. I heat embossed my greeting from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set in white onto some black cardstock and then popped it up with foam tape. I adhered everything to a black card base and finished off the card with some sequins.

Today I am back with another project that showcases some awesome stamps and dies from 

Pink & Main.

I love creating shaped cards and the Scallop Hexagons dies make it so easy! After I created my card base, I used the Nested Hexagons for my cards focal point layer. I inked it up to create a sky and then I used the Scallop Waves Dies to create my grass. The star of the show, at least I think so, is that adorable little bear and sunflower from the NEW stamp set called, Sunflowers!! Cute right?? I colored the images in with my Copics and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out!! I love coordinating dies! They make my crafty life so much easier lol! I love how tall that sunflower is standing!! I finished off my card with some glossy accents and white doodle.

This week, challenge #264 is....

Card Shark

(Use A Playing Card)

Here is the project that I created for this challenge:

My daughter and I are huge Harry Potter fans and I thought it would be cute to make something to hold change in the car or purse.  A few months ago, I bought a deck of Harry Potter Playing Cards. The original idea when I bought them was to use them in my PL album, either as a playing card or by fussy cutting out the images. When I was shuffling through them for this challenge, I came across this one with money on it and knew it would be perfect for what I wanted to achieve. I simply covered a empty Altoids tin with some cardstock, wrapped some ribbon around and glued the card to the top. I finished it off with some sequins and left the ribbon extra long to make it easier to tie repeatedly.

Camp Create Session 3 (Day 1)

Hi everyone! 

I'm back with a quick post to share the card that I created for 

Day 1 of Session 3 for MFT's Camp Create. 

I can't believe this is the last month for Camp Create!

Is summer really almost over???

Today was all about Monochromatic cards. Here is what I did for the challenge:

I decided to go with pink so that I could use that adorable Hog Heaven stamp set! lol! I did use a tiny bit of black, just to break up some of the pink. I stamped the piggy onto some light pink cardstock and paper pieced the heart with some darker pink cardstock. I finished off my card with some pink sequins.

Wild About You

Happy Wednesday!

Today I am back with another project that showcases some awesome stamps and dies from 

Pink & Main.

Isn't that bear fun?? She is in a new stamp set being released this month called, Wild About You. I stamped her onto some kraft cardstock and then colored her in with some colored pencils. I love the soft, muted look coloring on kraft does. After I had my image colored in, I used the coordinating Wild About You dies to cut her out. I set her aside and started building my layers for my card front. I used the Stitched Rounded Rectangles to cut out both patterned papers and then used the Scalloped Border Dies for a fun scallop edge on the light tan patterned paper. I tied a hemp bow and then attached it to my kraft card base. I used the Stitched Rounded Rectangles once more to cut out a smaller rectangle out of cream cardstock, popped it up on foam tape and then adhered my bear. I finished off the card with some glossy accents and some enamel dots. I hope you liked this little sneaky peek of a stamp set that will be in the store soon. :)
